Choreographers and dancers from generations tight to one another, heirs of the old “new Portuguese dance” from the early 1990s, Sílvia Real and Miguel Pereira have built their body of work in the city of Lisbon, which caused them, 22 years ago, to find themselves together on stage for the first time. An encounter that kept repeating and leaving its trace, and which they now resume in a very particular period of their lives and their relationship with the world’s current state, embracing the challenge of building a duet fuelled by the specific complicity that unites them, here captured from the perspectives and proposals of a group of people from different backgrounds, ages, and disciplines, invited to that end by Sílvia Real and Miguel Pereira. From the study and discussion of what remained and what these encounters revealed to them about themselves, a fragmentary material emerged, which the duo proposes to transform dramaturgically, incorporating it, only to give it back right away to the audience, to these others who are also ourselves, as in a familiar game of mirrors, somewhere on the blurring border between reality and fiction.
