Nungu e a Senhora Hipopótamo [Nungu and Lady Hippo], originally by English author and illustrator Babette Cole, tells the story of an African boy determined to bring the water that had been swallowed by an angry female hippo back to his village. Nungu sets off alone through the jungle in search of the hippopotamus and, with the help of his old grandfather's wisdom, manages to make her return the water to the dry riverbed, bringing joy back to the people of Tubu.

This is Histórias Magnéticas’ fourth story and the first foray into a non-Western culture, in this case African, which gave rise to a musical score and a narration inspired by that continent’s rhythms and melodies.
