Does time, even for a few moments, seem to pass more slowly in a small village than in a big city? What is gained and what is lost?

Do we truly respect other people’s time? And regarding the time we dedicate to someone, can we really give up our routine for the sake of another?

What if there was no set date to premiere a show? Would that be more stimulating than having a short rehearsal period? How do we adapt to being short on time? Do we freeze? Or, rather, it becomes a vital stimulus?!

And our time as adolescents? Do we miss that time? Or not? What marks did it leave?

And the little time we have left to live? Do we “move forward” or do we waste a lot of time on trifles? And death? Do we think about it regularly? Or do we prefer to forget it exists?

I really like this quote from Francis Bacon: “we're born and we die and that's it, and you do something in between if you can or if you want to.”

This show is dedicated to Isabel Alves Costa, a great friend and enthusiast of Real Pelágio Productions. In 1998, Isabel included us for the first time in the Porto International Puppet Festival program. Since then, and throughout the various collaborations I've had the privilege of having with her over the years, Isabel has always radiated an unparalleled integrity and passion for life and the arts. In my career path, it has been rare to find people like her. When Isabel invited me to work with Comédias do Minho, I almost refused. I felt that this project, totally original and visionary in the Portuguese cultural landscape, didn't quite fit me. The proposal was very clear, and at the time I thought I wasn't the right person. But Isabel convinced me otherwise, thank goodness! I am very happy to have been here; it will be remembered as a very special moment in my career. And I’m absolutely certain that, for me, there was no "wasted time"... Thank you, Isabel!
